Campers (6-13)
Camp dates: Tuesday 15th - Thursday 17th April 2025
Collecting Registration Packs 2025
Most of our communications will be via email, but in order to attend camp you need your wristband which you’ll wear every day - by which we mean that you put it on for Tuesday morning and don’t take it off until camp’s over. In order to get the right wristband to the right camper, we need you to collect your registration pack.
On the registration form you will indicate your preferred pickup point. Options currently include:
MBAS old gym (Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th April, 3pm-5pm)
Cooks Beach Hall (Thursday 3rd April, 4pm-5pm)
In previous years we were also able to organise a Hikuai pickup point, and intend to do the same this year.
If none of these options work for you, we will make other arrangements (e.g. picking up on first morning of camp), but it would be great if most packs can be collected from one of the pickup stations otherwise there might be long queues on day one.
I’m on the wait list… what does that mean?
We have 300 places available for camp. Each year we are able to take just a few more than that based on the electives we run and Council’s requirements for how many we can fit into the tent. On top of that, each year we have a few registered campers pull out for one reason or another. Either way, being on the wait list still means you have a chance to get to camp, but it might take us a week or so to find a spot for you.
If you’re on the wait list, please keep an eye on the email address you included with your registration. When a place comes available you will receive an email offering you a place, with 48 hours to either accept or pass it on to the next person on the list. If you don’t respond within those 48 hours, it moves on automatically to the next name on the list and you’ve missed your spot.
Wait listed campers do not need to pay their fees until a place is offered. We’ll take your money if we can offer you a place at camp, not before. Every effort is made to get as many children to camp as we possibly can, but please keep in mind that being wait listed does not guarantee you a place - please do watch for that offer email.
Payment
2024 camp fees are $90 per Camper.
Registration for Campers is confirmed once payment is received. You can pay immediately by credit card and get an automatic confirmation, or you can choose to get an invoice, and pay later (this is a good option if you prefer to pay by internet banking). As always, we are open to talking about payment options if you’re finding it hard to locate the funds in a hurry, so don’t rule out coming to camp - be sure to register with an invoice to ensure you don’t miss out, then talk to us about your situation.
Details for making Internet payments: Westpac 03-1578-0066529-02, Mercury Bay Community Support Trust. Please include your invoice number and contact phone number so we can match the payment to the correct registration.
Tips for filling in the Registration Form
Have your list of electives worked out in advance for each camper, and in the order you want to do them. Having this ready saves a whole lot of time when you’re filling in the form.
If you don’t immediately get to the payment page after clicking on the submit button at the bottom, it means something has gone wrong and you’re not registered. Go back up and see what might be missing (the transport option is usually the one that gets missed). If you still don’t see a payment page then contact us because your form has definitely not reached us.
If you don’t want to pay by credit card that’s fine by us - just select the invoice option and make the payment later by internet banking.
You will receive an email confirmation within minutes of completing the process, and a second email confirming payment if you have paid by credit card. If you don’t have these, something has gone wrong and you are not registered. If you pay by invoice, you will receive a confirmation of payment too, but it takes a little longer for us to confirm the amount in the account and do it manually.
When allocated places run out, there is a wait list. We cannot guarantee that everyone on the wait list will get in to camp but we do our best to get as many as we can. If you are on the wait list, please keep an eye on your email - if a place is available you will be notified by email and given 48 hours to respond if you wish to accept.
