ABOUT
Camp dates
Camp runs from Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 April 2025, with compulsory Teen Leader training day on Monday 14 April. Campers attend for three days, Teen Leaders attend for four.
What is Mercury Bay Day Camp?
Day Camp at Cooks Beach is a wonderful outdoor adventure for children (6-13 years) overseen by The Mercury Bay Community Support Trust.
Helpers are drawn from all of the churches and from the community. The camp includes Christian music, stories and fun in a large group, as well as elective activities in smaller groups such as Archery, Craft and Beading, Rock Climbing Wall, Hut Building etc. (see Electives page for full details).
The Mercury Bay Day Camp runs in the first set of school holidays each year (between the first and second terms) and is held at Morcom’s Farm property at 925 Purangi Road, Cooks Beach.
Camper numbers are limited
Although we'd love to take every child who wants to come, we have to limit the number of children attending in order to keep things safe and also to provide all the children with a fair and fun experience. All registrations must be entered online. When the limit is reached, a waitlist will be triggered.
Fees
Campers (6-13 year old) are charged a flat rate of $90 each. Teen Leaders and Adult Helpers attend for free.
We make every effort to keep fees as low as possible while still covering rising camp costs and we think this is good value for money, but we know that finances are very tight and any extras can be hard to budget for.
If you want your children to come but aren’t sure about the finances, please do register them and select the invoice option, then email us at daycamp.mercurybay@gmail.com to work out a plan. We're very happy to discuss part payments over a period if a lump sum is difficult, so do get in touch. There is also sponsorship available in cases of hardship.
Donations
If you can spare anything extra, donations are very much welcomed in helping to keep camp running at a minimal cost to families and in helping families who would otherwise miss out altogether.
You can either include this in the total on your child's registration form if you’re registering a camper, or simply pay directly to our account: Westpac 03-1578-0066529-02. If it is only a donation, please include that information in the particulars so we don't think it's a registration payment or part payment for camper fees.
